For families
Find a time for the whole family, even across time zones
Grandparents in one country, cousins in another, a sibling on night shifts. Getting the whole family on one video call, or around one table, is a project. It doesn't have to be.
Why family plans are harder than they look
Families are the most spread-out group most of us have: different cities, different time zones, different routines. One person is free in the morning, another only after the kids are asleep, and a third is seven hours ahead. A message like "how about Sunday at 6?" starts a chain of "whose 6?" and "I'm in the car then".
How to find the time
- Make a link with a wide window: the next week or two, and "Any time" for the hours. Wide is good when people live in different zones.
- Send it to the family chat, or text it to the relatives who aren't in the chat. It opens in any phone browser. No app, no account, nothing for Grandma to install.
- Everyone marks their own local times. Each person sees the grid in their own time zone automatically, so nobody converts anything.
- Pick the best time, and everyone gets it in their own local time, ready to add to their calendar.
Family tips
Video calls across time zones
With family on two continents, the overlap is usually a narrow window: morning for one side, evening for the other. Use 1-hour slots and "Any time" so that window has a chance to show up. The best time is the same moment for everyone, shown in each person's local time.
Reunions and birthday dinners
For a dinner or a reunion, use longer slots (3 or 4 hours) and evenings or weekends. Add the place in the details so everyone has it in one spot.
Help the less techy relatives
Answering takes two steps: type a name, drag over the free times. If someone really can't, a relative can add an answer for them from their own phone with a different name, like "Grandpa Joe".
Holidays
For the holiday season, make one link covering the weeks around the holiday. You'll see right away which days the whole family is in town.
Questions people ask
How does it handle family in different time zones?
Everyone sees the times in their own time zone automatically. A relative in Sydney and one in Chicago both see their own local times for the same slots.
Does my grandmother need an app?
No. The link opens in any phone or computer browser. She types her name and marks when she's free.
Can I plan a reunion weekend with it?
Yes, for the time of day on specific dates: pick the dates and longer slots. It's built around hours, so it fits a dinner or a call better than a multi-day trip.
